BARCELONA CONNECTION

We will stroll through Barcelona's medieval streets, admire its most iconic sights, marvel at its unique Gaudí architecture, dig into its rich historical heritage and gastronomy as well as enjoy its vibrant urban culture.

CATALONIA CONNECTION

We can take my comfortable air-conditioned Mercedes van and head towards other must-see places in Catalonia: Costa Brava, Dalí and Gala museums, Montserrat, medieval towns, fisherman's villages, wineries, monasteries…Tell my what you fancy, I'll be happy to tailor make your tour.

Lunch in a XIX century flat in the citycenter

Should we spend the day in Barcelona I'd love you take you to my home in the heart of the city (the atmospheric Born district). Built in the XIX century, its high ceilings and barcelonan flavor makes the flat special enough to have been the set of TV series and films. We'll enjoy a choice of local tapas, wine and cava, but would you rather eat out, I have a nice list of selected restaurants ready. Just let me know your preferences, I'm a flexible person and will adapt the tour.

About us

Cristina

My tour guiding experience started as a member of the Hospitality Program of an American company during the Olympic Games of Barcelona. Having a keen interest in History and Culture in general I found it a pleasure to show my city around. That took me to the States later on where I was a tour leader during the Olympics in Atlanta. I have also worked in Boston and in London.

Besides that I have a 23-year-old experience in Publishing; during my years as an Editor I enjoyed touring Spain with several writers, an experience I now share with my customers.

I consider myself a positive, dynamic and curious person. I love exploring the world and interacting with local people. As many travelers share these interests with me, I provide my tours with facts but also insider knowledge and local stories. I'm also glad to give suggestions on where to go for the rest of your trip.
I hope to see you soon!

Peter

I'm Swedish and I have (married to Cristina which is half Swedish), lived and worked for over 30 years in Barcelona, the city of my dreams! After all that time I can confirm it really is an amazing city to travel to and live in. You will find great food, beautiful architecture, a nice climate, interesting culture and history, and a touch of the Spanish tranquility. . . A perfect combination for me personally. I learned a lot about the city, her inhabitants, food and local culture, and keep exploring new things.

As I love to travel myself, I would love to share all I know with visitors from all over the world and giving people a nice time. My Barcelona experience has given me the perfect combination of two of my favorite things: I get to combine the cultural aspect and fun of the city, with meeting new, interesting people. I am a highly positive person, always trying my best to give you a good time in our beautiful city.

I have had several small businesses here; importation of waterbeds, a tea business and for 15 years worked as a broker of electronic components)
Apart from traveling, I love to read, listen to music and spend time with family and friends. I've personally built a life of which I could never have dreamed when I left Sweden. I met my wife Cristina here 1988, we have two children and a dog and we live in one of the nicest parts in Barcelona 5 minutes from the beach.

During my years here I have got to know

. . . I get to work in this beautiful city as a tour guide and travel agent.

I first worked 8 years in Marketing but then I founded my own company in early 2016 with a focus on sociable impact in tourism, especially for people in Spain with reduced mobility or in a wheelchair. I combine managing my own company with freelance tour guiding. It feels so rewarding to take every single client, no matter his or her ability, to walk to the most beautiful hidden gems in the city.

I love to customise your tour, let me know what your interests are so I can share my secret tips for the best shops, brunch bars, museums, districts, rooftop terraces, and much more in Barcelona. Getting to know you better before and during the tour is for me the definition of fun.

In my spare time I love reading, going for a hike in the hills near Barcelona, and spending time with family and friends. I've personally built a life of which I could never have dreamed when I left Belgium. I met my boyfriend Daniel here, we have a young baby, and . . . I get to work in this beautiful city as a tour guide and travel agent.

So please feel welcome in my beautiful city, and prepare for a nice experience together!

"Absolutely amazing. I couldn't be asked for better guides to host us. The tour itself was flexible to our needs, informative, thoughtfully designed and just an absolute pleasure. The guides were amazing, so amazing that the characters here do not give me enough space to thank them properly. We finished the tours with them feeling like we had just spent two days with amazing old friends. I recommend them with the highest praise I can give"

"Cristina Hernandez Johansson made our trip to Barcelona most noteworthy! She was most accommodating in customizing our day and is superior to any guide I have used in the past. Her knowledge was extensive on all aspects of Barcelona; and her warm manner made for a most delightful tour. The icing on the cake was our visit to their interesting home for lunch! We felt truly immersed in Spanish culture of living and dining. Our meal was beyond our expectations; and the company superb!"

"Thank you Cristina for an amazing Panoramic Tour of Barcelona and for your husband Peter's time for driving us all around to the many locations that we visited. You have been very professional in your quick responses to my emails and asking if there was additional places that we would like to see. We thoroughly enjoyed the history of Barcelona and the getting out of the car to walk around, while Peter happily went home to prepare us all an amazing lunch. Thanking you both again"
